  • eggs
  • self-raising flour
  • sugar
  • margarine
  • milk
  • baking powder
  • golden syrup
  1. Weigh the eggs and put the same weight of flour, sugar, margarine in a bowl with the eggs.
  2. Add 1 teaspoon of baking powder per egg and a little milk.
  3. Mix. Add more milk if needed so that the cake mix is easy to stir but not runny.
  4. Put a layer of golden syrup in the bottom of a greased dish.
  5. Pour the cake mix on top.
  6. Cook in a preheated oven gas mark 6 for approx. 45 mins till golden brown on top. Test with a fork it should come out clean if stuck in the pudding for a few seconds. Alternately you can steam it.
  7. EAT

1 egg will serve approx. 2 people
